Our organization, Wonder Weims Rescue, is a non-profit 501C, no-kill animal rescue group dedicated to rescuing Weimaraners in Missouri, Nebraska, and surrounding areas. We are committed to providing these animals with the respect, care, and medical attention they deserve, healing their emotional and physical wounds, and giving them the opportunity to be loved as part of a forever home.
We place a strong emphasis on educating the community about responsible pet ownership. This includes promoting the vital importance of spaying and neutering as a key measure in controlling overpopulation and ensuring healthier lives for animals— a practice required by Wonder Weims. We actively guide pet owners to low-cost spay/neuter clinics to make these essential services accessible to everyone, regardless of financial situation.
In addition to spay and neuter advocacy, we educate pet owners about heartworm prevention, offering free treatments to ensure pets are protected from this potentially deadly disease, irrespective of their owner’s financial circumstances. Understanding that pet care extends beyond medical needs, we also provide dog food to families in need, helping to alleviate financial burdens and ensure pets remain well-nourished.
Beyond animal care, we recognize the interconnectedness of pet and owner well-being. We support the broader community by providing clothing, shoes, and essential goods to families, with additional support during the holiday season through our Christmas distribution program. Building trust within the community is central to our mission, and we work closely with other humane organizations to locate lost pets and rescue abandoned and abused animals.
We also educate the public on the Weimaraner breed, including their temperament, training, exercise needs, and leadership requirements. We advocate against the horrors of puppy mills and encourage adoption from rescues or responsible, reputable breeders. By educating and empowering pet owners, extending our support to their families, and collaborating with other organizations, we aim to create a healthier, more compassionate environment for both animals and the families who love them.
